Aurora

Aurora Aksnes born 15th June 1996 Stavanger is an Norwegian music writer and singer. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves was released through the label Decca Records in May 2015 getting great reviews by music journalists and press. Half the World Away from the band Oasis was made for an advertisement of John Lewis, and Nature Boy is an Nat King Cole cover. The singer gained further attention from a post by Katy Perry where Perry endorsed the song Runaway. Make it a special day. Aurora Aksnes' earliest musical memories are of discovering an instrument hidden in her attic, and being captivated by the sound it made. Jan Oystein Aksnes and May-Britt Aksnes urged Aurora to pursue music not to get work or for a passion, but as an opportunity to improve. She began to write with her own music. She credits Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen and Bjork for being among her inspirations. After her mother said that the songs she wrote could be used to not gain fame for her but instead to inspire individuals to recognize their own value and impact on this world, she began singing them in public. She started playing piano at age six and writing music at age nine. The family did not be aware until 14. Aurora had no idea of being a famous singer. Her only passion is writing music. She says that music is her preferred method of feeling anything.
